These aren't just regattas. No, sir.

Yes, there will be raft-ups. Trust us, there will be rum. Without question, there will be challenges mid-race that you couldn't possibly train for. But make no mistake — this is more than just a party. It’s a full-send sailing circus with a purpose.

We’re here to celebrate Captain Alex Rust’s legacy by doing what he did best:

  • Turning strangers into family

  • Turning “just another weekend” into a story worth telling

  • And turning ripples into waves of real change

HOW IT WORKS

  • Five Regattas. One Chain. There are five regattas in total, strung like pearls up the West Indies: Grenada, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, Guadeloupe, Antigua & Barbuda, and the British Virgin Islands. Jump in for one, or chase Bubbles all the way north.

  • Four Legs Per Regatta

Every regatta runs over four days. Each day is a new race, a new raft-up, and a new excuse to ask yourself, “How did I end up here?”. Each evening we have award ceremonies aboard Bubbles, Alex style.

  • Random Mid-Race Challenges

Just when you think you’re trimming sails and holding a clean line… BAM. A challenge hits.

    • Maybe your crew has to do a snorkel shot of tequila before you can tack.

    • Maybe you’ve got to launch a crewmember overboard as a “human drogue” to slow down.

    • Maybe your engine needs to be turned on... and put in reverse. You don’t know until it happens — and that’s the point.

  • The “Prize”

    • Sure, there’s bragging rights, award ceremonies, and trophies… but the real prize is knowing that your bad decisions just funded good ones for kids.

  • No boat? No problem. Send us an Email and we'll find a way to get you underway.

Every regatta raises money to get local kids out on the water — kids who’ve lived by the ocean their whole lives but never had the chance to sail it. Your questionable life choices? They’re funding the next generation’s first taste of freedom. So come for the party. Stay for the purpose. And leave knowing you were part of something bigger… and possibly part of someone’s new favorite dockside story.

So yes... it is a party. But it’s also a platform. A purpose. A spark. This is your invitation to #livelikeAlex, give like it matters, and become part of a story that’s still being written one island at a time.

Grenada

November 14th, 2025

The Chasing Bubbles Regatta kicks off in the heart of the Southern Caribbean — Grenada. Our journey begins with a high-energy splash party at Spice Island Marine, whose support helps bring this dream to life.

From there, the fleet will head north, weaving through turquoise waters and unforgettable anchorages, before closing out in Carriacou. The party won't end until we've had our fill of Sandy Cay, a stop so perfect it should come with a disclaimer. Adventure, connection, and celebration aren’t side notes here — they’re the main event.

Grenada isn’t just the starting line — it’s the spark. And once it’s lit, the regatta doesn’t just ripple across the Caribbean… it detonates.

St Vincent & The Grenadines

December 5th, 2025

From Grenada, the regatta heads north into the magic of St. Vincent & the Grenadines. Few places on earth capture the raw beauty of the Caribbean quite like this island chain. We’ll shred through the Tobago Cays, where crystal-clear waters and vibrant reefs set the stage for pure adventure.

Expect the unexpected: dinghy races to deserted islands, barefoot beach parties, and the kind of spontaneous fun that only happens when dreamers tie up together. The leg finishes in Bequia, where the celebration continues in true Bubbles fashion — island vibes, music, and memories that will last long after the anchors are up.

Guadeloupe

Late December

And hey, how’s your French? Terrible? Ours too. But don’t worry — rum and raft-ups are universal languages.

In Guadeloupe, it’s not about getting it right. It’s about getting after it.

By the time the regatta reaches Guadeloupe, the fleet is in full stride — chasing raw adventure. This leg is about soaking in the wild spirit of the French Caribbean, where rugged landscapes meet salty nights under the stars.

We’ll be dropping the hook in Îles des Saintes, a cluster of islands that feel built for sailors — tight anchorages, killer hikes, hidden beaches, and a harbor that comes alive when the crews tie up together.

Here, it’s less about elegance and more about energy: long days exploring, longer nights swapping stories, and the kind of memories that only happen when fun comes first.

Antigua & Barbuda

January

Next stop: Antigua and Barbuda, where history, chaos, and raw Caribbean beauty collide.

We’ll roll into English Harbour and Falmouth Harbour, the legendary stomping grounds of sailors from every corner of the world. Expect packed anchorages, loud nights, and more stories per square foot than just about anywhere else in the Caribbean.

Then it’s off to Barbuda, where the vibe flips — pink sand beaches, endless horizons, and water so clear you’ll wonder if you’re floating in thin air. Barbuda is also home to one of the largest Frigate bird sanctuaries. It’s the kind of place that makes you forget schedules and just say “one more night.”

Bring your energy, your sense of humor, and maybe some aspirin. Antigua and Barbuda don’t do quiet — they do unforgettable.

British Virgin Islands

April

The British Virgin Islands are more than just another stop — they’re the heart of the story. This is where Alex bought Bubbles. This is where he returned after circumnavigating the globe. And now, it’s where the Chasing Bubbles Regatta comes full circle for the third time.

The BVIs are a sailor’s playground — steady trade winds, endless anchorages, and a culture that thrives on adventure. From island-hopping parties to legendary raft-ups, every mile here feels like it was made for celebration.

But this regatta isn’t just epic because of the sailing. It’s epic because it ties past to present — Alex’s first leap of faith to the living, breathing movement that carries on today.

Back where it all started. Back where it all came together. Full circle, and wide open.

Meet Bubbles' Captain

“Carson doesn’t sail boats, boats sail Carson.”- Brian Currier

If you’re looking for a seasoned regatta captain with a flawless track record… keep looking. Captain Carson has never won a yacht race, but he has once eaten an entire large pizza while singlehanding a dinghy across a harbor, which in many ways is harder.

Carson has been spotted trimming sails with one hand while balancing a snorkel shot of tequila in the other. He holds the unofficial world record for “most sunscreen applied without ever actually rubbing it in,” and his navigation style can best be described as “optimistically pointing north.”

Other career highlights include:

  • Successfully convincing a customs officer that a pool noodle counted as “safety equipment.”

  • Leading a conga line of dinghies through an anchorage at 2 a.m. (no one asked, but everyone joined).

  • Once racing a pelican to windward. He won.

But here’s the thing — Carson is the real deal. He’s logged years of captain experience, including running his own charter business, Black Water Voyages out of Pensacola, Florida. This isn't just a day job, this man lives aboard his ship. He’s also spent years as a camp counselor, teaching kids to sail and sparking that first taste of adventure. This dude is wild, he's a bomb sailor, and he’s perfect for what we’re trying to accomplish here. Carson also hosted the largest YCA Floatchella in history last year — and now he’s bringing that same energy to Bubbles, with spinnaker-swinging, raft-up madness that would make Alex proud.
