The Alex Rust Regatta (ARR!) returns for another year of adventure, laughter, and high-seas hijinks in honor of the legendary Captain Alex Rust. This family-friendly pirate-themed event is packed with floating challenges, creative competitions, and a whole lot of heart.

Join us at Eagle Creek Sailing Club for the ultimate summer celebration of community, sailing, and playful pirate chaos—all to benefit the Chasing Bubbles Foundation.

Event Schedule

9:00 AM – Registration & Check-In

• Pick up your wristband and loot bag

• All participants must sign the waiver and attend the skipper meeting

10:00 AM – Paddle Plunder Run

• Open to any paddle-powered vessel (kayaks, canoes, rowboats, etc.)

• Paddle the lake collecting floating pirate "loot"

• Each treasure is worth points—the paddler with the most points wins!

• Not a race... but a true treasure hunt for the boldest buccaneers

• PFDs required

Ongoing – SUP King of the Hill Challenge

• One-on-one Stand Up Paddleboard races

• Winner holds the hill—anyone can challenge the champion throughout the day

• Wins and defenses earn points toward the Grand Champion title

• PFDs required

  

12:00 PM – Lunch Break

• Lunch provided with your ticket

• Time to refuel, relax, and swap stories with fellow pirates

1:00 PM – BYOB: Build Your Own Boat Showdown

Design it. Build it. Brave it.

• Judged on:

  • Creativity

  • Seaworthiness (short paddle test)

  • Crowd Voting (donations = votes, including online!)

2:30 PM – Award Ceremony

• Top Paddle Plunderers

• SUP King of the Hill Champion

• Best BYOB Boats (Youth & Adult)

• Best Pirate Costume

• ARR! Grand Champion (most points across all events)

3:00 PM – Afternoon Sail & Raft-Up

• Bring your own boat or hop aboard a host vessel

• Music, drinks, floating games, and pirate celebration afloat

All registrations are donations to the Chasing Bubbles Foundation (tax-deductible).
