Antigua’s stunning coastline recently served as the playground for our latest youth camp, where 23 adventurous youth set sail for an afternoon of discovery. In an incredible partnership with the National Sailing Academy and Falmouth Harbour Marina, and made possible by the generous support of SunSail, we took to the Caribbean waters to give these young explorers a taste of a Captain Alex Rust adventure.

Living Like Alex
The mission of Chasing Bubbles has always been about more than just sailing; it’s about the courage to pursue a life less ordinary. For many of our participants, this was their very first time stepping onto the deck of.a large catamaran or monohull. Under the bright Antiguan sun, these kids weren’t just passengers—they were the crew. They learned the mechanics of the wind, the feel of the wheel, and the thrill of navigating the busy, beautiful waters of Falmouth Harbour.
Skills for the Journey
Sailing is the ultimate teacher of self-reliance and teamwork. Guided by local mentors, the group practiced:
• Seamanship basics: From sail trim to understanding the "language" of the rigging.
• Problem-solving: Adapting to the shifting winds and currents of the harbor.
• Collaboration: Realizing that a boat only moves smoothly when everyone works in harmony.
These hands-on lessons helped build a sense of confidence that we hope stays with them long after they’ve found their "land legs" again.
A Community Effort
This day was a testament to the power of the local sailing community. Between the logistical support of the National Sailing Academy and the prime location provided by Falmouth Harbour Marina, our young sailors felt like part of the professional yachting world for a day. A special thank you goes to SunSail, whose generosity provided one of the vessels that made this entire adventure possible.

Setting New Horizons
At Chasing Bubbles, we believe that providing access to the water is the first step in helping a child imagine a bigger world. By "living like Alex" for a day, these 23 youth didn’t just see the horizon—they started planning how to reach it. We are so proud of their bravery and curiosity, and we can’t wait to see where their own "bubbles" take them next.
