20+ boats. 4 unforgettable days. 1 wild legacy.

The 2nd Annual Chasing Bubbles Regatta just wrapped in the British Virgin Islands, and if there's one thing we learned: This is not your grandfather’s regatta. In the spirit of Captain Alex Rust, we do things a little differently to challenge how our fans see the world.
⚓ Floatchella Madness (Day 1)
We kicked things off with the now-legendary YCA Floatchella, a floating raft-up powered by rum, music, pizza, and questionable dancing.

Thanks to Young Cruisers Association for getting the party started and The Friendly Pirates, Brady Dale, and Electric Passage for keeping the music and energy bouncing between hulls.
And of course, big love to Apura Vela Argentina—your mid-party pizza drops may have literally saved lives 🍕.
🌊 The Chase Begins (Days 2–4)
Three legs of uncharted adventure followed as crews chased S/V Bubbles across the BVIs. The course? A mystery until the morning skippers meeting. The vibe? Equal parts competitive, chaotic, and completely off-script.
Mid-race mayhem included:
Human drogues (yes, actual people in the water behind boats)
Drinking from your Snorkel
Captain/crew costume swaps
And some other very creative interpretations of the SeaPeople app challenges (who knew hot sauce, selfies, and interpretive dance could factor into race strategy?)
Our host WE | Sail made sure this year’s regatta leaned even harder into the weirdness—and we love her for it.
🏁 The Final Standings
This wasn’t just about speed—it was about style. But hey, someone’s gotta win.
🥇 1st: Lola (our 2025 GRAND CHAMPION!)
🥈 2nd: Vito (fueled by pizza and passion)
🥉 3rd: Izarra
4th: Jubel
5th: Circle Back
6th: Bobbie
💩 Spirit Award: Afterglow – for finishing last, but doing it loud.
🌟 A Quote Worth Bottling
“As corny as it may sound… sailing around the world really isn’t just about the places you get to explore, it’s about the incredibly unique people you meet along the way. The 2025 Chasing Bubbles Regatta was EASILY one of the best times of our first year cruising full time.”— Afterglow
We couldn't agree more. It’s not about GPS points—it’s about human connection, shared chaos, and chasing the dream.
💙 Sailing with Purpose
This wasn’t just a party. Thanks to our growing fleet and generous sponsors, we raised awareness and funds for the Chasing Bubbles Foundation, which empowers kids to chase freedom, confidence, and joy through sailing—just like Captain Alex Rust did on his iconic voyage.
New in 2025: The BVI Chasing Bubbles Day Camp
This year, we launched our first-ever Chasing Bubbles Day Camp in the BVIs! Hosted in partnership with YEP and Navigare Yachting, this program brought local island kids out for a day of sailing instruction to build confidence, learn teamwork, and explore life at sea. It was a powerful reminder of why this movement matters.
To our 2025 sponsors—you didn’t just fund an event, you fueled a movement:
Navigare Yachting
Dockwa
Sunchill
The Qualified Captain
Spice Island Marine
Young Cruisers Association
Sails Ops
BVI Tourism Board
SeaPeople App
Nanny Cay Marina
Thank you for believing in this weird, wild idea and helping us make it real.
🧭 What’s Next?
Let’s just say... the Regatta isn’t the only way to get involved anymore. Big things are coming for those who want more adventure than just once a year. Stay tuned.
Want to join next time? You don’t need a boat. You just need a sense of humor, a disregard for traditional race rules, and a love for living life the Chasing Bubbles way.
